Although unlikely to make the XI, it comes as no surprise to see Lewis Goldsworthy (having scored 331 runs at an average of 66.8 during April) selected for the 1st XI squad for this home match against Middlesex. Lewis’s run tally included one century and three half centuries in the three 2nd XI matches played during April. Well played Lewis
Feeling more positive this morning - where do Somerset need to be at close of play today to be back on even in the contest with a good chance of forging ahead on Saturday?
A bit of a wobble but the lads brought it home in the end. Good fighting spirit from Goldsworthy and Davies but the bowlers in Middlesex 2nd innings set things up perfectly for a good finish.
Much has been said about our bowling and batting but just a shout out for the spectacular catch by Tom Banton to remove Sam Robson making it 44-1 starting the (some would say collapse) frequent departures of the Middlesex batters

Woken up this morning with a real case of matchday nerves - how is everyone else feeling?
Honours even at lunch? How do you rate that morning session?
Disappointing Steve, and that feeling grew through the afternoon and evening sessions.

Decided to wear my T20 shirt today rather than the CC one (which I wore yesterday!)
Nervous?
What mental strength displayed by Steve and Lewis in their partnership to see us over the line !
